Feeling alive

One of my best friends almost got run over by a car this morning on the cross walk. When he told me the story I was thinking about the show on Discovery, called ”Seconds from Disaster”, probably for him it was less than a second from disaster, but he managed to see the car in the last moment and put his hands on the side of the car and made a little jump back, as the car braked and stopped 3 feet after the cross walk. The good thing about this is that it happened just 30 feet from the emergency room so this may explain why the driver was speeding on the cross walk while another car was stopped to let him cross the road. She had a very good excuse too, as she was in a hurry to get to classes. There are many thing we think about when we are doing our daily routine and crossing a road through the cross walk shouldn't be unsafe, but this experience has made me realise that we always need to stay focused and trust only our eyes before engaging in any type of action that has a potential danger. Most of all this type of experience makes you feel alive, you don't have time to see your whole life in front of your eyes, like they say in the movies, you just react as good as you humanly can in those circumstances. There are actually two ways you can get out from this type of situation, you either feel alive, or you don't.
